Andrew G. Linn, Jr. The chairman of the Commission is Andrew G. Linn, Jr.  Mr. Linn was appointed by Gov. Bob Riley as the Sixth Congressional District representative in 2006.  His term expires August 31, 2015.  Commissioner Linn is president and chief executive officer of Southland International Trucks, Inc. He has a business administration degree from Jacksonville State University.  He is active in numerous civic and community organizations throughout west Alabama and was named Tuscaloosa’s Business Man of the Year for 1997.

Larry J. Hughes Larry J. Hughes, vice-chairman of the Commission, represents the Third Congressional District.  He was appointed to the Commission by Gov. Bob Riley and will serve until August 31, 2016.  Commissioner Hughes is the founder and president of Ichtus CONsulting Inc. (ICON), serving physicians and healthcare facilities across the United States.   He holds an undergraduate degree from Troy State University and an MPA with a healthcare concentration from Auburn University.

Charles Ball Charles Ball  of Birmingham was appointed by Gov. Bob Riley to represent an At-Large district to the Commission.  His term expires August 31, 2019.  Commissioner Ball is the executive director for the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham. He has an extensive background in municipal government planning that includes Gadsden, Auburn and Albany, Georgia.  His educational degrees include a bachelor of arts degree in business Administration from Birmingham Southern and a master of community planning from Auburn University.

Karen Calametti, MD Karen Calametti, MD of Mobile was appointed by Governor Robert Bentley to represent the First Congressional District.  Her term expires August 31, 2020.  Commissioner Calametti is vice-president of Children's Medical Group in Mobile, Alabama.  She received her bachelor of science degree from the University of South Alabama and received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine.

Darius Foster Darius Foster of Birmingham was appointed by Governor Robert Bentley to represent the Seventh Congressional District.  His term expires August 31, 2020. Commissioner Foster is a non-profit executive with a background in finance.  Commissioner Foster received his bachelor of science degree in Business Administration from Miles College.  He is actively involved in civic and community organizations that serve the State of Alabama.

William R. Jones, Jr. William R. Jones, Jr.  was appointed to the Commission to complete the term of At-Large member Philip C. Dotts. His term expires August 31, 2018. Commissioner Jones has over 40 years higher education experience in governmental affairs. He has a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Jacksonville State University. Active in community organizations, he is a past president of the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra board.

Patricia W. McGriff Patricia W. McGriff of Cullman was appointed by Gov. Robert Bentley to represent the Fourth Congressional District.  Her term expires August 31, 2020.  Commissioner McGriff is a retired educator of 26 years.  She has a bachelor of science degree in Education from Jacksonville State University.  She is the former director of Jubilee Court of Alabama, a non-profit community ambassadorship program for high school students.  Commissioner McGriff is actively involved in community and civic organizations in Cullman County.

William E. Powell, III William E. Powell, III of Montgomery represents the Second Congressional District.  He was appointed to the Commission in February 2007 by House of Representative’s Speaker Seth Hammett.  His term expires August 31, 2015.  Commissioner Powell is executive vice president of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association and the Southeastern Livestock Exposition.  He is a member of the Alabama Livestock Hall of Fame and is recognized as one of the 50 most influential families in the 50-year history of Red Angus cattle.  Commissioner Powell holds a Ph.D. in Animal Science from Auburn University.

Stan R. Pylant Stan R. Pylant of Huntsville was appointed by Gov. Robert Bentley to represent an At-Large district to the Commission. His term expires August 31, 2023. Commissioner Pylant is president and general manager of WHNT-TV in Huntsville. He has a business administration degree from Athens State University and is a graduate of the Huntsville/Madison County Executive Leadership class.

Sydney G. Raine Sydney G. Raine of Mobile was appointed by Gov. Bob Riley to be an At-Large member on the commission. His term expires August 31, 2018.  Commissioner Raine is the president of Mobile Works, Inc. He received his bachelor of science degree from Grambling University.  He is involved in numerous civic and community organizations and is the recipient of the Distinguished Leadership Award from the National Association for Community Leadership.

Charles E. Sanders, Jr. Charles E. Sanders, Jr. of Jasper was appointed by Lt. Gov. Kay Ivey to represent an At-Large district to the Commission.  His term expires August 31, 2021.  Commissioner Sanders is an attorney with the law firm of Maddox, Thornley and Sanders.  He is a past president of the Walker County Bar Association.  He earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Rhodes College and received his juris doctorate from the University of Alabama.

Missy Ming Smith Missy Ming Smith represents the Fifth Congressional District. She was appointed by Governor Riley in 2006 to serve until August 31, 2015.  Commissioner Smith retired from the Madison County Commission where she served as the director of Information and Community Relations.   She has a bachelor of arts degree in Journalism and Speech Communication from Auburn University.  She is actively involved in community and civic organizations in North Alabama.
